It's OK, Fraser. I sure didn't take it as "correcting", & I hope someone does correct me when I'm wrong or unclear (my wife does a good job of that), so don't hesitate to give me some help when I need it... hell, I confuse myself often - I'm good at that.
A quick comment about this new "balancer" - you might buy one & try it, but you really won't know how truly effective it is without checking with a dynamic balancer anyway. You might or might not be able to "feel" a big improvement, nor vibration that is still there and undesirable, without doing that. I still think it's the best way. I have an ACES unit like Victor is talking about, & some of the vibration levels I've measured & corrected have been considerable, but weren't noticed by the owner. If you have accurate instrumentation you can usually see a static RPM increase after balancing also.
