I'll blow Bob's horn for him. Today Bob Highley received the Master Airman's Certificate for 50 years of safe flying. He joins the ranks of few great pilots.

Congratulations Bob! That's a nice honor, & something to be proud of. My wife has a cousin who received it a few months ago. Only thing is she hadn't actually flown anything for decades, & then started flying again recently. Doesn't seem quite fair compared to someone like you. I'm getting close to it in years, but will never be so honored... let's see, there was that time in Butte, MT, flying over the 4th of July parade. Then (just maybe) a couple of other "adventures" along the way. It's been a trip though! 8)

50yrs, that's a wealth of knowledge and experience, and we as Thorp pilots are fortunate to have this wealth of information amongst us, hats off to you Bob. You have probably been of very positive influence to those around you in the aviation community, and no doubt your words have been instrumental in keeping those such as myself safe many times. We would all count ourselves lucky to have you around for many more years, Congrats, we are all proud of ya.............Dan

I think Bob learned long ago that if you do your snap rolls directly over the tower, they can't see you!
