I do like that hinged cowl arrangement. Makes checking the oil a lot easier. I have to take off one cheek cowl prior to every flight to check the oil. Not a bad idea really, cause you get to see everything in there (on one side anyway).

The only I see about the tip up cowl is its gonna run Hot, neat idea, just needs a little more work

I have always thought that your design looks good Rich! I guess that that the picture shows your bird in the high lift/slow flight/short landing configuration? ;)
