What size rivet gun is recommended for a thorp project?

I know little to nothing really and see that they list them as 2x, 3x 4x etc.

What does this mean and which one is recommended. Going to Oshkosh and figure I may get the best deal there, at least for a new rivet gun.

I'd rather buy one good one, than 2 or three smaller/cheaper gun. I would think if I take care of it, the gun will last a lifetime.

I have a rivet gun, rivet sets and bucking bars I would be willing to sell. I purchased them from Rich Snelson 15 years ago. I am not sure if it is a 3x or 4x but I should be able to find out. Rich was our newsletter editor and said it was the correct size to build a Thorp.

I have a 4x, but I have a regulator in line with it. As rivets age, they can be harder to set.
I really do not want to start that discussion again...

A 4x (with a regulator) is my all-around choice. A 5x is really nice for the center section spar.
