Thorp Air Command - T18.net

OK...go ahead and yell at me . I had posted Sedona as the 3rd weekend in April when it is really the 22th thru the 24th of April 2016 . I was trying at all cost to avoid any conflicts with SNF which falls during the 5th thru the 10th of April . With that said the 22nd thru the 24th was really the only open window to secure a block of rooms at the Sky Ranch Lodge . I booked 12 rooms this time , instead of 10 . 2 rooms are already booked leaving 10 open . As aside note I was informed that April is the start of the peak tourist season in Sedona and it was good that I booked the rooms in June 2015. We still have the 30 day room rate guarantee ( 48 hour cnx policy ) that we had in 2015 , although the room rate has gone up slightly . When you call mention that you are with the Thorp T-18 group . Not really any discount on the rate , but we get to stay together as a group . As we get closer to the Fly In I'll post a list of government approved activities for the sleep over . Tony mentioned the cowboy supper nite and I'll look into that . Also we can probably plan on a Winslow meteor crater and Grand Canyon flight .

Bruce and Diane are booked, was told there are still 4 rooms available in the block, the only rooms available for that weekend and the rate is $143.10, just in case you're interested. Thanks for the info Bruce . That is the best rate I could get even for a block of 12 rooms . In fact it isn't much more than last year . It is the start of the tourist season and we would be hard pressed to find any discount rate on a hotel , even Tom Bodet couldn't give us a better rate ! Considering the location of the Lodge to the airport , café , etc. I think it is a pretty good deal . Also the fact we are not roasting in 100 + degree temps !

Matt: Let me check on it . I will be talking to Howard and Elaine in a few weeks regarding the parking of their MH at the airport , along with a few other fly in items . Last year the airport folks had them pay to park along the fence line , which was probably OK since we used the airports electricity to power up the Pineapple Command Post . Howard is trying to see if they can park in the airport parking lot this year . Let me look into it and hopefully the airport will not see it as a trend to turn the airport into an RV park ?
