Something else I thought of for anyone doing brake lines: I originally bought nylon tubing with braided SS sleeve for master cylinders at the pedals. Decided to simply go with nylon without the braided sleeve. Though the sleeve is flexible, it's torsionally rigid and had a propensity to loosen the ends when pedals move back and forth. Of course, if the sleeve is not integral to the end fittings it's not a problem. A little rubber sleeving works for places that can rub just as well.

I see a lot of good tips here. Thank you.

Food for thought.... I have seen a lot of stainless steel lines get chafed and fail before the aluminum it was chafing really showed any signs of it. We were always patching lines on the A-10 but, to be fair, I must admit I do not know the temper nor the specific alloy of aluminum in those parts. I think it is likely those parts were harder than any aluminum parts in a Thorp but aluminum is very abrasive. Just look and see what the grit in sand paper is made of...
