Just now heard about it. 78DW was just buttoned up after top overhaul so it will depend if I can get enough break in hours. If so I'll most likely head down for 1 day.

Hey IRA, DAN and the rest of the KVIS Posse,

I just got the "Negative - No can do" from our 3rd and last overnight baby-sitter. So it looks like Starr and I will be day trippers only on Saturday. We've still got kids to tie up somewhere so I don't know our hours. Have you determined a fly-out to lunch destination yet (South of you is better than North of you)? Just in case we end up meeting you there. Let us know -- you've got my numbers.

Cheers and safe travels to all,
Tony

PS - GREAT to read that our South-East Thorp drivers dodged the Irma-Bullet.

WE will get that fly out destination figured out Tony, I am expecting Thorpers and those interested in the Thorp to show up for Saturday festivities at the airport, so the Fly out will be a short one so I can try and meet with those folks that show up. In the past I have had those that were interested show up when we were all on a fly out and then they were disappointed when there were no planes at the airport or Folks around to talk to. We will get it figured out and get it posted for you...Cheers Dan

looks like its going to be just me all by my lonesome.

not sure when I'm coming or going so I may just camp out in the park. I need to sort out my airplane camping gear for the new bushplane I'm working on.

meaning I need to find out if I can still survive sleeping on the ground. :P

I learned years ago that animals sleep on the ground, I sleep in a bed
Just make sure you have a ground cover and a thin mattress even if its leaves with red bugs

Bring a hammock and tie it between the swaying trees in the EAA park !! :P BOOM ! You don't have to worry about the red bugs , but tree vipers might be a problem ? :o

Poopstain!!.....I just cancelled the room reservations. The Wx is not cooperating - have a cold front parked just to the west - it was supposed to blow through here early today, allowing She WHo Eye Wership and I clear passage to KTPH, then around the southern end of the Sierras, around the TFRs and on to KVIS. Tomorrow looks ugly for most of the day, with Saturday questionable as well as the return trip on Sunday into headwinds and dodgy weather. As both Darc and I have big commits on Monday, I can't risk the journey over that terrain in potential low ceilings and stiff winds - sorry guys - my first miss of the this fly in.....grumpy noises!!

Tailwinds to the rest of you, Have fun and fly safe!!
