Ky dam this year is October 5-7 unless you are one of the early birds arriving on Thursday. Karen talked to the lady at the lodge today and she said that they are no longer going to take reservations a year ahead as we have usually done. They did still have our name down but it would be a good idea to check with them to be sure your reservation is still in place. Our usual Friday night meal at Patti’s will have to change this year as the rebuilding from the fire will not be complete yet. I imagine we will go to the Oasis bar & grille down by the interstate instead. We will have the back room at the lodge on Saturday night as always. During the day there will be plenty of flying and rides and I expect some of the ladies will be out site seeing and shopping. I hope to see a bunch of you there. Karen says the number at the lodge 1-800-325-0146, tell them you are with the Paine party.

Spoke with Jim Fain with the Murray Airport Fish Fry, They will have the Fish Fry October 6th and the Thorp Group is invited.
He mentioned that the airport might be closed as they are installing taxi ,runway lighting.
Driving is an option

I'm going to attend this year barring poor weather or crazy winds like last year. I will try my best to get out of the office early enough friday evening.

I'll have to call the lodge. Do they do camping there? adrienne will most likely be over at her parent's house which is about 45 minute flight so I always have that option to fly back for a bed to sleep then return in the morning.

Some folks have stayed in the campground halfway between the airport and the Lodge, although I have never stayed there myself.

Sleep in a bed ! Sleeping on the ground is for wild animals and Marines !

8 years army here! lol. I'll look up the lodge. Might even end up flying back to tell city depending what is going on at the in-laws.

The bummer for the weekend is the large AOPA event in carbondale that I wanted to attend and they moved red bull air race to this weekend as well. I have attended the others as it is the yearly championship. So I might only be down for friday and saturday depending if we commit to red bull. I had a great time but I will also have a great time with thorp friends and family. All my activities tend to fall on the same weekends.

I haven't checked but made my reservations last year. I have been looking forward to it. But there is a good chance that I won't make it. I've been having some peculiar feelings in my chest lately and flunked a stress test last Monday. Right now I'm scheduled to see a cardiologist the morning of Oct 5. That's the earliest appointment I could get.

Tracy and I will arrive Friday till Saturday noon.
I have three T18s in Evansville, I need to sell. Will be there till Wednesday if anyone is interested. Finally got a hanger in DeLand, FL but cannot keep them all.

Looks like the weather might give us a break this year. Come on folks, let's get those birds to the Dam!
