Haha. Frase, you kill me!
Great job Terry. You do awesome work. Another one leaves the nest!! That’s a very cool thing.
We are hoping to have two more flyable in Vegas in the very near future.

Will be putting a coat of high fill primer on the cowl today . Canopy frame gets primed and painted. Then next week I’ll put it all together and prep it for first flight

Got the final parts in primer yesterday. That’s top, bottom and side cheeks.
At the end of the week final assembly will be finished.
The canopy will go on the frame for the final time. Canopy latch will be completed and that should bring me to the end of the list of open unfinished items.

Big assembly day . Canopy back on. Gear leg fairings installed. Wheel pants on. Cowl will go on tomorrow. The long range weather forecast for next week is looking encouraging for first flight.
I think we’ll plan for Friday or Saturday. That’s also the timeline for a bunch of a Thorps being just down the road at the Jack Edwards airport.
I’ll keep updating on the plan for the first flight

Terry, that's a snazzy oil cooler setup. I would think that would really draw some air through the cooler.

218TH flew for the first time today. More awesome were the 6 Thorps that flew in from the KJKA gathering. Thanks for the support and combined knowledge that allowed 218TH to fly today. The tweaking begins. There are modifications to be made and changes to my original specs. The throttle quadrant mount on the left side will probably change to another type set up. More than likely- vernier controls mount on the center of the panel.
Many thanks to the guys that flew over to jump in and assist as well as present solutions to a few of the issues we had this am.
I heard it said that RV guys would have left long before - maybe the lunch bought some extra time.
Much appreciated and this group is why Thorps are bring built and flown. It’s all about the community.
Thanks again
