The Florida Three Amigos (Highley, Williams, Conwell) made it back to the Sunshine State after some interesting weather situations in Alabama. Thanks to all that planned and carried off a great weekend. Special thanks to Gary and Maxine Green and Ed and Nettie Ludke. The hospitality was outstanding and the food superb. Those of you who don't venture out in your T-18s just don't know what you are missing!

Mid Life Mistress dropped off her stowaway (John Evens) in Denver and continued on to Salt Lake arriving just before O-Dark 30 last night - AR to UT in an easy day. A weekend of learning for me. I learned or was reminded of:
1. What spectacular and diverse scenery our great country offers.
2. Ed Ludke's wife Nettie makes even better food than he does canopy covers.
3. Peoples's hospitality continues to amaze me - (Gary's neighbor put John and I up saving 80 curried jeters)
4. More effective closure procedures.
5. Bob Highley is easier to shoot down than originally thought......(or was he just toying with me?????)
6. Bill Williams.....All cooks go to Heaven.
7. It takes Gary Green 4.2 hours to notice what I wear.
8. I can give a blessing without getting struck by lightning.
9. I don't look good naked any more. (Thanks Alex)

What a wonderfull group of people surround and take part in flying this aircraft, and not an hour goes by in MLM where I don't chuckle to myself, knowing I'm one of the luckiest folks on the face of the earth.

Thanks Gary - that was a lot to organize. I had a blast.

Fraser,
I don't think you would have had to worry about someone in Arkansas making you squeal like a pig while wearing a kilt. You're not blood relations to anyone in Arkansas.

To all you "hairy chested" aviators that made it to the "Spring Fling" at Gary Greens and all those pictures with the beautiful flying weather, you're really starting to "Piss me off" as I sit here in the cold and soggy PNW not getting any flying time in. It's probably just pay back for the balmy weather we had when Florida was freezing this last winter. Fraser, I'm lookin forward to Sept in Utah.

Not so sure about that ? [:p] Something about a movie from the 70's with Banjo music that rings a bell ! [8)] I think he was sporting a beard for the movie. [:0] Only got a glimpse of the kilt.

Awsome pictures, reminds me of how much fun we had there. The Green's and Ludtke's are both excellent hosts, the location is unique, the weather was good although hot, and the company was beyond compare. It also reminds me that little if any of this would have been possible if someone hadn't talked me into building one of these planes, then given me rides and advise to keep me on track until it was done. Thanks to one and all.

Thorp experts,

I am looking to buy an airplane and am intrigued by the T-18. Can anyone suggest a local owner who may be willing to allow me to see their aircraft so I can determine if it is big enough for my wife and I? I live in Fort Walton Beach, FL.

I appreciate the assist.

Rick
