Man o man... I got HOSED.... bought a " pickled engine outta ca" no paperwork most a a fuel injection modification done from late 70s. looks dirty but legit. all the parts were scrap cause of age. rotart fuel pump not worth a penny and bendix fuel control the one model that no one will rebuild or wants. couldnt use as a core even.
So fun long story short. I paid core price for an exp engine.. whose cases were cracked 1000$ minimum , crank needed 1350$ overhaul, bendix fuel control garbage so 1000$ on a throttle body,
I could go on.... but anyone trying to search out the deal of the day... you may PAY PAY PAY !!

anyways..
positive ..... 4 standard cylinders to be freshened up, accessory case and mags serviceable, should be able to port and polish, got prop hardware and a new spinner. Should be able to get the engine together for 11k$ all told with new top and bottom ....and hoping for 215hp..

I agree. $11k is pretty good. Ten years ago I got a quote of $14k to have an O-320 overhauled. A couple of years ago I spent about $10k on a basket case O-200 that I reassembled.
