Lee,
Do we know when the forum will be yet? I am unfortunately going to be leaving before the dinner on Friday, but I am hoping to connect with as many of you as I can before I leave, so hopefully Wednesday?

Edit:
Disregard, I see that it is scheduled for 10:00 on Thursday. Hopefully I will cross paths with some of you earlier in the week.

Hey gang, which altitude/airspeed do you regulars use on the Fisk approach? 1800 MSL and 90 kts, or 2300 MSL and 135 kts?

One person has dropped out off my block of airconditioned Oshkosh rooms. His reservation was for the whole week starting Saturday. We are past the refund time. If anyone wants the whole or part of it, I can put you in touch with the young man.

Dang it, I FINALLY have N118BC all dolled up for the trip, but NOOOOO... there's smoke and fires 2/3rds of the way there. Gonna buy me a ticket on Southwest. Question: How to get from MKE (Milwaukee Int'l) to KOSH? I I have looked at everything on the AirVenture Transportation shown below and am not happy (yet). Well over $200 ONE-WAY from MKE to OSH. None of the affordable shuttles lines up with my arrival time, 2:40pm on the 25th. Any help out there..??

I have rented a car from there. Cheaper than one rented at OshKosh. Depending on when you get there, it’s about 1 to 1.5 hours.

And speaking of Forum Talks - if you want to hear about how NASA is helping to usher in the urban-air-mobility and electric airplane revolution the come to Starr Ginn’s talk on Monday at 2:30pm in Forum 7. She’s the Lead of NASA’s “National Campaign” the help the FAA set the standards for how all these new vehicles will operate. Then we can talk about burning dinosaur juice in out Thorps when she’s done!

Thorp folks at OSH,

Is there a forum on how to survive torrential weather while in a flimsy tent?

If not, does anyone have extra tent stakes I can borrow before the storm tonight? My tent is staked down with the usual 1/8" steel stakes, but these are not hurricane-rated.

As a third option, there's a lot of abandoned parking and exhibitor spots on the field, and some have left stakes in place, presumably for setup tomorrow.

What's the etiquette on coveting someone else's stakes and borrowing them for the evening?

King James Version - Exodus 20:17: "17 Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's."

I thinking that if they're not your neighbors you're cleared in hot on the tent stakes. You can always give them back.

Spanky, that's a wonderful interpretation, thank you.

Neighbor's stuff? Off limits. Some guy in general aviation camping? Fair game!

I ended up borrowing some abandoned ones, survived the torrential night storm, and gave them back the following morning. I'm back in KC for a few hours now, will swap airplanes, and come right back to Oshkosh. This time, I'll bring my own proper tent stakes.

For any of you guys on site, let me know if there's anything you need (hardware, camping supplies, etc). I'm making a store run just before we depart this afternoon.
