Good work! Please have someone with Thorp experience fly the first flight.
Cubes

I have someone with a little bit of Thorp time and a whole lot of Mustang II time lined up for Phase 1. He was a Navy rotor wing test pilot and offered pretty early on to fly it for us when the time comes. Speaking of which, Tampa FSDO approved my flight test box today, so that is exciting.

Cubes, are you still doing Thorp check-outs and training? I need to get some time in type for insurance and it would make me feel comfier to have someone with extensive thorp experience show me the ropes.

Wow, very cool. Let us know how she flies. If you are small enough, you can crawl into the fuselage and back to the tail area where you can inspect the tailwheel attachments. Drag along a flashlight and a mirror with you because you only want to crawl back there once.

We wanted to swap the tailwheel anyway so removing the tail isn't really much of an inconvenience. I also have a large battery door that allows access to the tail for a mirror and light, but the rear bulkhead makes things a bit tricky. Did you still have a need for spare parts? I never responded, but I have some stuff that could use a good home. Shoot me a message and I'd be happy to scour the hangar for you. I know for a fact we have a fiberglass lower cowl, some fiberglass wheel pants, the old hartzell Constant speed, an extra set of wheels and a gaggle of gauges.

I would love to help out with some dual, but right now, I’m not letting anyone in the Tigress. She is still not right after the storm damage.
