Thorp Air Command - T18.net

Dear Thorp friends,
Dean Cochran, builder/owner of N11DC, passed away peacefully last night. My hangar-mate and best friend, he kept his wonderful sense of humor to the end. He was a true gentleman and friend to all. Dean designed & built many hundreds of stainless steel exhaust systems for the T-18, and other aircraft, when there just wasn't anything like it available for us. I can't even begin to tell of all his contributions to the Thorp community, and sport aviation in the Denver area. He taught me just about everything I know about the T-18, and a lot about life, and for almost 40 years we shared a love for this wonderful airplane. I'll miss him terribly.

Sorry to hear about Dean,

It's good to know guys like Dean have been around. John, I guess it's our turn to follow his example. I'm sure he'll be missed. We all need to keep in touch. The forum has been good for me.

John, I was sadden to read your e-mail about the passing of Dean. We met in April of "76 and have been good friends ever since. I agree, the T-18 community lost one of its best! Steve Hawley

Sad to hear about Deans passing.I met him at lake Texoma in the mid 80s.I have spoke with him on several occasions.He always had time to answer any question.The exhaust system on my airplane came from Dean.I will miss him also. Nicky
