Tim: was away for a while, where you able to pin point your electrical snag on your aircraft?

Hi Victor,

Yup its great to be back, the alternator doesn't come on line till 1500 rpm? However once on line it works fine down to idle?? Its a mystery so I'll be taking it off the airplane this winter and tearing it apart looking for the gremlin that lives inside. Sorry no photos yet, was too busy trying not to embarrass myself in front of the Lyncrest airport crowd; I don't remember landing this poorly before :(

2.0 so far this week and after I get back from a weekends glider towing I'll be back at it next week. :)

Gremlin's are the worst kind of electrical snags to invade your aircraft. Disguised as loose wires, poor connections, cracked wire insulation, worn grommets I could go on.

I had a CDN military Bell 412, we called her (Cristine) that had a wire running from a bus bar that caused intermittent snags. This was due to someone installing a slightly longer instrument retaining screw. The screw in time chaffed through the wire insulation (which was quite small damage) the screw would make momentary contact on the bare wire. Of courses the line was in a conspicuous location and took quite a long time to solve. 146466 to me will always be Cristine,....

2.0 out of 10 not bad in front of those tough Lyncrest airport crowds, hopefully they do not have big score signs.

Victor it is not a Gremlin, it is designed to work that way it takes 1500 rpm to excit the alternator, mine works same way, it cuts voltage regulator on at 1500. Just bring to 1500 after start up and all is well. Larry Salerno
