Just another afternoon with friends at OSH. I am just glad you can't see the tears running down my cheeks from staring into the sun with a permanent grin on my face. Given the opportunity I would do it again in a heartbeat. Congratulations on some well deserved publicity. I hope some of them show up with a nice article in Sport Aviation. It looks clean and shiny on the outside but I believe I remember a slightly dull spot on one of the right side valve covers.

Thanks again Dave! I couldn't have done it without you. For those that don't know I was fighting a pretty bad cold all week at OSH this year. Didn't really notice until I was on the way home. That's OSH adrenaline for you!!!

Here are a couple more pics (actually more than a couple but what can I say ... I'm a proud Thorp owner!)

Thanks Dan ! You provided a lot of help with my A/C and I really appreciated it ! :) I don't plan to go to OSH this year, but year ( 2013?) is the 50th anniversary of the Thorp. Cubes mentioned he might go in 2013 and I could would fly as his humble wing man...Navy flying on an AF wing ? Proud to do it any day ! Anyone else thinking about going from the West to OSH might consider joining the formation. :o As long as I can get a hut with AC, a dry rack and a hot shower and an MRE...me happy ! :-*

I'd actually sit down and read my Sport Aviation if they put those pictures in it.

Not to sure about flying to OSH in MLM2.0 for 2012, bit I think I could commit to 2013.

Anytime RB. Lets plan a weekend get-to-gether somewhere. We can put some yaw strings on em both and take some shots. Wife just got a Go-Pro camera. Need some shootin. Grounded for winds today. Spanky and I got a full day BS session though. Lee, she looks just as good in photos as in person. Awesome plane. I wish I had your talent. See you in Fredricksburg.

Lee,
What are the pods under each wing? Radar, fuel, travel pod, or mini-guns?

Great looking airplane all the way around. I particularly like the matching shoulder harnesses (to the a/c paint scheme).

Very, very sweet Lee.

How is the tail wheel pant working?

Thanks Guys!

Mike,
Those are Tom Hunter's fuel pods, they hold 6 gal a side go on/come off in about 5 mins and are very handy, especially for an 0-360. I leave them on at all times as I don't see a big speed penalty. I'm not going to say there's not one ... just that it's not big, probably 2-3 kts

Lou,
The tailwheel pant (also a Tom Hunter product) is 99% cosmetic, there may be a 1 kt gain but I that's not likely. I originally had my prop polished, back then I liked the tailwheel chrome. When I painted the prop white I put the tailwheel pant back on, I have a thing about the spinner/prop matching the tailwheel.
