Just sent this out to the 50 Thorp owners in TX, LA, NM, AR, OK. That should get a couple more in the mix!

BTW .. If you're reading this you probably wont get one, I didn't waste the $ on those who are already in the mix!

Another update for you Spring Gathering attendees.

I spoke with fellow Thorp owner and musician Alex Whitmore over the weekend. He'll be at the event and has booked a gig at The Silver Creek that Saturday. Silver Creek is a really cool outdoor venue (happens to be my favorite up there), it's basically on old house/beer garden, the performers play from the front porch and the rest of us sit in what would be the front lawn (now a deck with tables/chairs/waiter service etc.). Good German beers and food too.

Rich - oh no - Alex keeps it clean and fresh - you'll know the song when you hear it - we'll have him dedicate it to you.

Lee - Lest you have not thought of this already and given that venue's (Silver Creek) layout, I wonder if it might be a good idea to get a reasonably accurate count a couple of weeks before and reserve that outdoor area for the group an hour before Alex's start time. They do take group reservations. Knowing you do enough already, and you think good idea, I'll take care of it.

Good thought Frase and yes I've been working on that for many moons now. I'm on a first name basis with the girl at the Chamber of Commerce. Unfortunately not a single restaurant in town takes reservations. They just don't need to. We're pretty much on our own.

I should clarify that statement ... by in town I mean on main street.

And they (as in multiple restaurants) will take group reservations in the form of a private party and the fees range from $500 to as high as $2500 (plus catering usually around $40 a head). I figured that's too rich for our Thorp blood.

Right on Lee - as usual, you're a little ahead of me. Worst case, for Alex's performance, we can Occupy Main Street. We have to be there for his dedication and performance of "I don't......????......uh never mind.

I'll see what I can do. I've never had a hard time getting a seat there ... we are a big group though we may have to slowly take over the front patio. Although Silver Creek is my favorite venue in town, there are several other music houses in town that are quite frankly more in demand so that should help us out a bit.

In addition to all the Bull---- on this subject, I count 16 airplanes. Do you think there will be more Lee. I have not seen Gary Greens name or Tom Hunters.

Just a reminder guys ... in One Week we will lose any remaining rooms reserved in our block (along with the reduced rate). If you are planning on attending the Spring Gathering you'll want to make your reservations now.
