Thorp Air Command - T18.net

I just got off the phone with the coordinator for the t6 group, very nice guy. We have a plan on parking so were covered there. It turns out theyre going to out number us by quite a bit. Apparently there will be 30 t6, 3-4 p-51, a p-40 and a few randoms thrown in. Don't be scared we discussed his operatiions and neither of us thinks there will be a problem. More details to come as we get closer ... Sounds like its going to be one heck of a weekend.

Wendell twisted my arm and I'm only an hour of Flight time away. No excuses now (other than weather) as I just made my hotel reservation. I'm planning on arriving early Saturday. I always carry my tie downs on cross country flights as part of by flight bag. See you there...

If you look at the list above that's 20 airplanes ... not too shabby for a "Dinosaur"

For those that are flying in I will try to be there early Thursday. We have agreed to take the Northern section of the ramp. So, upon arrival take the mid-field entrance into the ramp and turn left. As I mentioned my plane should be staged there already. Here's a picture for reference .. the yellow shaded area will be ours. I know we're not like this but for the argumentative types in the group this is a gentleman

I booked a room on March 2nd, and I am not on your list. I called the motel and I was booked OK. My wife Breanna and I are attending Friday and Saturday, and leaving Sunday morning.

I think some people did not make it into the "Thorp Group" block. There are only 15 rooms taken from the block and when I went down the list I had the Hotel confirmed those as well. As long as everyone has a room that's all that we need.

I also booked a room. Was supposed to be with Thorp group but I think the guy messed up as the rate I paid was higher than the Thorp group rate. See you all there.

Ok guys your on the list now. You may want to call the motel tonight as you are not on the list for the "thorp group" which means you may be paying a bit more.

Derek and Amanda will be there assuming we can still catch a hop over from San Antonio from David R and Lee on Friday. Dunno what happened but didnt they didn't get us with the group initially. All taken care of now tho. Saved me 10 bucks a night!

The wife has had surgery guys, but I had planned on us going anyway I figured all would probably be well at the time of the event. I didn't make reservations because I didn't know for sure, she is going to have some more surgery and it just might keep us from being able to attend. She told me to go ahead and make the reservations and attend on my own, but I will opt to stay here and help her out, she is my best friend. If you don't see EL GATO on the tarmack, well, there will be another time. You all fly safe, and have fun............We are still planning on having the KVIS gathering this year..Dan
