Thorp Air Command - T18.net

N633PM was last flown on January 1 of this year. Yesterday, May 24, 633PM emerged from the hangar for the first time as N926WM, sporting a complete brake overhaul, a new carb, gascolator, new linkage brackets, rebuilt mags, a fresh conditional and some new acrylic urethane paint. She flew twice yesterday and once this morning - all systems check, with only a couple of minor issues to tweak (idle mixture and canopy seal). This completes phase two of the makeover. Next year is the interior, including panel and re-wiring. Meantime, it's time to do some flying. There were a few other things I wanted to do during this phase, but just flat ran out of time.....??........and my wife's money.......

Sharp looking plane!

Youneek, huh?.....I "wonder".......still no where near complete, yet another step to keeping it alive and kicking. I learned today there is a reason for short hop local test flights after extensive work.....The oil temp sensor got loose and sullied the engine compartment and her bottom with about two quarts of oil - I'm damn lucky there was no fire. Not like me to miss something as simple as that, but it happens I guess.

Lesson learned.

Did the sender have a hole drilled for safety wire ?

If only we could safety wire our brains to the upright and locked position ! I'll tell ya my latest foo pa when we get to T82 !
