Hi Guys,

I will be heading up to Fredericksburg on Friday about noon and heading home Sunday morning. I live on an airpark just north of San Antonio (1T7). If anyone would like to spend an extra day or two in the area you are welcome to flyin and spend a night or two. We have three spare bedrooms if anyone is interested. San Antonio is a nice city if you are interested in doing a little sight seeing.

Nineteen airplanes on the ramp this evening. Great turnout so far and great seeing all the regulars along with a few new faces. Will be a good time tomorrow flying out to Llano TX for BBQ and fighting for airspace with all the T6 drivers.

Darc and Frase down and safe in Salt Lake following a 4 leg bumpathon - first leg pretty smooth to BFE - next three were moderate chop all the way - thanks to Cubes for flying her the first two legs and thanks to Spanky for leading us. Once over the intitial apprehension, I think Darcy actually enjoyed some of it.

Many thanks to Lee for all - it was great seeing everyone, and as usual, I again came away more knowledgable, having leaned new things. What a great town, great people and great plane.

David and Karen made it home in about 5.5 hours, 1 stop, relatively uneventful. Tip of the hat to Lee for all his hard work. Karen is already wanting to come back to Fredricksburg but she especially wants to go to the riverwalk in San Antonio. Now to start getting ready for OSH and get back too work on 718DR

Many thanks to everyone who attended the 2012 Spring Fly-In! Pictures will be posted shortly but in short we had 25 Thorps in attendance. In the end we outnumbered our warbird friends and in my opinion out flew them too. The long distance award is a tie between Chuck Kincer from Maine and Paul MacMicheal from the Seattle area. In addition Dick Wolfe and Jim Mantyla made the trek all the way from the Great White North to attend via commercial travel.

Oshkosh is around the corner folks ... let's keep this momentum going!

Stay tuned for some pics ...

Lee,
Thanks for the great effort and fly-in. We did make the T-6 guys look like a bunch of amateurs. Two from Vegas are back in the barn after day-long beating from cranium winds and turbulence. Hope everyone made it back safely with their airplanes in one piece. Cudos to the long-distance champions.

No problem Kyle, let me know next time you are in the area. The weather will surely be better than it was the last time. By the way, my dad is Mr Read, he doesn't have much time in a Thorp.

The Billy Bob Flying team from Lakeland, FL has made it to the Big Easy. Took off from Ft Worth in some somewhat queasy weather this AM and reached New Orleans Lakefront Airport in about 2+40.

Thanks to Don Doubleday and Ken and Juanita Morgan for the great Granbury hospitality.
