I got a second chance offer on plane due to non paying bidder. Flew up to St. Louis to check out.
The plane is very ruff and should be considered a project. It has had landing gear and motor mount replaced due to some type failure, log books only indicate replacement but fuselage and firewall are poorly repaired. Elevator needs bushing replacement , for $15000 I left it there.

Keep looking,
I checked out a few before I found one at the airport next door!
I started actually looking at aircraft after I spent a few months reading this forum and asking questions.
Then I answered ads and looked at 2 aircraft before I found N883FF just a few miles from the home drome!
Not only that, but there is another T-18 in the hangar across the taxiway!! (not for sale)
I really thought I wanted an S-18, but I ended up with a fairly light weight T-18 that is O-290G powered. The first T-18 I looked at was too tight in the hips, but for some reason, this one fits snug, but comfortable. The S-18 I looked at was just a bit too ruff in both build quality and wear-n-tear. I might have done it if the price was lowered, and I didn't already have a project. I "Needed" a flier.
Anyway, shopping turns out to be one of the funnest parts of aircraft ownership. You get to see lots of different T-18s (none could possibly be the same) travel and meet people.
'Flying out' to see a plane is even better than flying out for the $100 hamburger!!

I see the T18 is back on Ebay. What kind of damage was done to the fuselage. Got a local looking for a plane, trying to make it a Thorp. What is it worth??

Thanks,
Bob MO

The landing gear and motor mount show to be replaced in logbooks, I don't know what happened, but the fuselage and firewall are damaged patch pop riveted on inside of fuselage and it is creased a little, ailerons are damaged , bushings in tail, it's been sitting with auto fuel and just a little ruff, would make a good project I would not give more than $7500
