I have several good, but used, REM37BY plugs that I'd give away. I don't use'm any more. I just installed 8 new NGK BR8ES plugs a couple days ago---cost me $20 for all eight.

I have dual P-Mags. Well actually one E-Mag and one P-Mag. They no longer make the E-Mag model---all are now the P-Mag style. I like them enough that I put dual P-Mags on the O-200 that I am using on the Cub.

Do they really improve fuel consumption in the order of 10%? If so, there's a real payback.

Gary, if you have a minute could you give us the low down on the p-mag. I talked to the gentlemen in Texas I believe it was and these guys appear to have their acts together. This electronic stuff seems to be the way things are heading, tell us your story on this if you don't mind...Thanx. Dan

I don't know if I achieve much better gas mileage with the electronic ignition. I generally run at 55-60% power and burn about 8 1/2 GPH with TAS of 180 mph. That is what my old Thorp (N118GG) did with Bendix mags. What I really like is how it starts, how smooth it is, how slow it will idle (570-600 rpm), etc. There is virtually no maintenance required, timing could hardly be more simple. I change plugs about every 100 hours because they are so inexpensive that it doesn't seem worth it to clean and re-install them. Brad Dement at EMAGAIR is a straight shooter. They did have some teething problems with their very early models but that was several years ago and the design has gone through several iterations. I have not heard of any complaints for a long time. I think their current design has matured into a robust, reliable unit. They are a bit pricey. The slight fuel savings would take a long time to make up for the price differential over a new set of mags.

Thanks Gary, they did have some troubles, But it sounds like they took the info from what troubles they did have and used it to make a solid unit. I agree, these guys are a couple of the sharpest tacks in the drawer and they are very professional. Which mode do you use on your units, mag mode? Or do you use one of the more advanced modes. thanks Gary. Dan
