Of the ten known Thorps here, I did not hear of any damage. It was a rough couple of minutes, however.

Woot Woot!!! - congrats - Hey Rich....make sure and put the "Judge Me" sign (for the plane, not you...) on the prop (the plane's, not yours) next year at OSH - you too may come away golden, silvered or bronzed.

Thanks for the kind words Mr. Fraser ! After I saw Bernie Fried's outstanding sky machine at T82 this year... his beautiful A/C said I needed to do some more work ! His attention to detail and craftsmanship are second to none. Not to take away anything from the other A/C at T82, his just hit me in the face with BOOM ! 8) I can see why he was the Grand Champion at OSH ! The fact that I built an airplane (27 years), painted it in my driveway and did the test flights and made it safely to the ground are prize enough for me ! If some one wants to put a ribbon on the old gal, so much the better. ;)

Duke and I returned to LAL yesterday after a 5 3/4 hour flight from Oshkosh. We rode the storm out under the wing of my Thorp. It rained and blew like hell for about 5 minutes. Glad it quit when it did as the tie downs were taking a beating. Saw some planes that had moved or flipped over using tent stakes as tie downs.

Bill: A brief as to what type of tie downs you used for future reference. Cork Screw ? 3 pin in the ground ? Holy C _ _ P ! Guess I need to bring along a G.I. shovel to dig a Fox Hole !
