Where can I find the 3/4" round Micarta Rod called for in the plans to make the rudder bushings? I dropped one of the rudder bushings while I had the rudder off and it disappeared.....I cant tell you how frustrated I am....I must have looked for that bushing for an hour.

Only an hour ! Wait about 2 weeks and it will appear as if by magic ! Just kidding , look exatcly where you think it is not . I got my nylon bushings ( I think it is nylon, might be Delrin ? ) from CSA . Same bushing for the rudder as for the flap hinges . I think they were about $4.00 each ? I bought a few extra to have on hand for problems just like this. Spruce has the 3/4" solid phenolic rod .

I now use stainless steel for these parts. Steel wears less than any plastic as the plastics seem to hold grit imbedded in them.

You can buy micarta, nylon or stainless from any number of places (ACS for one). Anyone with a lathe can spin these up for you in a matter of minutes.

From what I understand CSA is in a state of hiatus right now.

They are still selling parts. Mike still has quite the inventory. In fact, he has a kit pulled ans several prospective buyers calling.
I just bought 2 one foot sections of Delrin from Grainger. They have anything you want as well.

Like Bob, I made mine from stainless and the only ones I have replaced are the ones I lost and as Rich wait a few days and they will show up . Mine re appeared about 5 seconds after making new ones. Ryan, if no luck with Mike, send me your dimensions and I will whittle you a couple.

Thanks for the offer Danny, I used Mikes. I also picked up a lathe. Love monkeying with it. We made some rib carry-through bushings for the gear lock down mechanism that didn't work. So all that cable, pulley etc stuff for the gear retract is coming out.

Funny thing about those parts that hit the floor , I hear them hit and I think I know EXACTLY which way they traveled across the floor . After an hour of huttin I look in the opposite direction and in a place they would never end up and there they are ! BOOM !
