Since Jim mentioned it, I need to make an annoucement.
I've talked to over a dozen people about my airplane, none of which seemed put off by the price (keep that in mind potential Thorp sellers).
After a while I started to listen to my verbal spec sheet ...
"Engine 520 Since NEW, Freshly overhauled prop, New starter, New Alternator, New Mags, New Vac pump, New Brakes, New Tires, New Induction System, New Paint, New Interior, New Battery, New Hoses, New Wiring, New Panel, EI Guages, IFR equipped, King Silver Crown stack."
... a little doubt set in.
Then KY Dam happened, Ol' Red ran almost constantly and didn't complain a bit, I roomed with poor MLM'less Fraser who was not grounded but definitely feeling the pain of no airplane. Watching all of us in formation got Wendell envious so his interest in N51863 has been rejuvenated enough to ask me to put in a LH throttle.
And then there was Sunday, N589LW took me home from Nashville nonstop, only in climb did the GPS show less than 165kts. I was sitting there comfortable at 8500 ft looking out at a perfectly blue sky and it was decided. Ol' Red is staying in the family for a while.
I'm still going to work on upgrading and exercising Wendell's airplane (N51863), she's just going to have to split time with Red.
So in the end what I'm saying is ... she's off the market (until she goes to College [;)])
