Summer is almost over so if you want to visit Quebec you have to rush winter is coming ;D

Both flaps is finish :)
Minor trim on each side when I install the flaps on the wings.

My aileron push-pull tube (1/2 diameter X 0.035 wall) is made with 6061T6. I order the good aluminium grade and when I drill the rod-end I found that :o :'( ???
A swiss cheese threaded rod-end!

New 2024T3 tube and fresh rod-end installed in position as per design.

Aileron push-pull tube inside the center section is cleaned and inspected. I changed the rivet at the both extrimity and installed new rod-end.

Next step stabilisator.
A+ les mecs!

I make wood mold to fix in place the wing tips when I applied the fiber-glass.
I buy epoxy resin to repair the damage areas.

Friday morning I received my stabilizor spar. Now I put all my energy to the stab construction.

Maybe with my old spar I'm able to play music....

Don't forget the doubler inside. Did the old one have a doubler?

Yep!

The new tube has the doubler inside.
My original has the doubler installed but the spar tube and the sleeve inside is in 6061T6! The plan specification is 2024T3.

Thanks Dickwolff for the inquiry.

I have lot of snag to fix at the airport today so I dont have the time to play with my new spar tube!
Next Friday I rent a sand blast boot for my job to blast Cessna 150 and 185 gear leags some engine mount and is the perfect timming to prepare my shoot my T-18 ''A'' frame.

I take the times to cleaned surface with thinner to removed all oil and grease deposit before the sand blast appointment.

Thierry,

I have seen some poorly built/maintained T-18s, but the one you got is unbelievable! I hope that the person or persons who built it never, ever try to build another airplane! I have a lot of respect for your attitude & skill in re-building this ugly duckling! It is very impressive!

Dan,
I found a hydraulic press near the airport, with 55 tons pressure. I go tonight with my ''A'' frame.
I keep you posted!

I make new stabilizor weight arm. The next pictures say why.
Image

I dont do the grinding mark. When I drill the old pop rivet and removed plate I found that!
Image

New part primed and dry for the night. End of the nightmare.
One day I have no more old parts to change...
Image

I started drilling the spar tube. There is some home made jig parts.
Image

Arm and horn drill and the first try on the fuselage is a perfect fit ;D ;D ;D
Image

La suite plus tard 8)
